As per Joan McChatty's suggestion, I'm meeting with Sam McCable tomorrow to talk about what he remembers from the opening of the existing factories. Meanwhile, I decided to talk with Yasmin: being the Senior Team Executive Assistant and having been with the company almost from the beginning, I thought she might remember something useful.
And she does! (It's amazing how much people underestimate the knowledge and experience of support staff.)
One of the things she most vividly remembers is the negative reaction of the factory workers in the UK. They feared their work was being shifted to cheaper countries and that they would soon be without a job.
Yasmin also mentioned a few other people who might have additional useful information. I might just go ahead and do some sort of exercise to capture a bit of their memories and advice.
