And so it begins
Today I started as Head of Marketing & Internal Communications at Cablinc, a company which produces, sells, installs and audits electrical equipment.
The first day at a new job is always exhausting, isn’t it? With this covid-19 pandemic and having to be “onboarded” online, it was specially so.
HR jammed as many calls as could possibly fit in my first-day calendar. They left me no gaps: not to go through the 40-page welcome pack they sent me by email; not even for a toilet break.
One of the calls was with John McChief, the CEO. He told me his vision for the company and what he expects from me. The line between the two did not seem very clear.
The most brilliant call of the day was with Yasmin Kushal. She is the executive assistant for the top management team. She’s worked at Cablinc for a long time, seems to know every nook and cranny and sounds very efficient. It’ll be good having her around.
